I didn't want to finish the day like this. We were almost there to the easy-breezy part of Tamaki drive. I didn't want to finish our day with a kind of miserable experience. But I have to see the right timing if I wanna suggest anything to Morgaina.

(photo is from one of the pre-event training)
We had another pair pf help hands to push one of the chair and we moved to opposite Kelly Tarlton. We stopped in a shade and had a decent brake with some snack.
Snacking has been a issue for the whole training and I still have not found the solution yet.
-Morgaina has gluten allergy.
-She quite like healthy options (she does not like too sweet etc)
-she liked seasoned rice balls with seaweed
-she liked dates based energy bar
-she eats well when she wants and if the food is available
-it has to be cut in bite size, if she eat while pedalling
I offered some of my snack. Mandarin(fruit) > no. Rice balls > no. Yogurt fudge > no. Dried apple > YES!! and I was again surprised how quickly and how much she ate them! Again, I failed with feeding Morgaina today.. (it was almost too late then)
We were "waiting" for a team member to bring us lunch. That was the plan. I texted her (another team member). "Morgaina decided to give up. we are opposite Kelly Tarlton now, but I may be able to make her pedal a little more..".
After a break of about 5 mins, I started to play on COGY, just to take Morgaina's attention. and then I said to her,
"Hey, shall we go a bit further? I want to show you the light-house I swam to (bean-rock)". "OK" was her answer. Yes, it's working!
I also said, "Do you wanna go on COGY? At least, COGY has a parasol". Yes, our COGY has a parasol. Morgaina's skin reacts to UV, then we use sunscreen and a parasol on a sunny day. Weather improved while we were having break, and it was sunny then. "OK" she said. and I said in my mind "Yus!!".
then Morgaina started pedal COGY. First, to the end of wharf. I pointed the bean rock (lighthouse) and explained. 3 sec later, she started to pedal again, without me suggesting! I slowly followed her. Her steering was very stable and going good. I also said, "you don't have to keep on, but you are welcome to keep on". She chose to carry on. I think she did choose.
When we got to Tamaki yacht club, it was me who decided to really stop. Soon, the lunch has arrived. "Next year, I will do this on my electric chair" she commented. I really understand. On the electric chair, we don't have to feel all the sad feeling of being left behind. we can be the actual part of the event.
Morgaina was really really tired. Whatever I ask, her answer was "um, I'm tired" which is more than fair enough. But, on the way home in my car, Morgaina said to me, "Can I try Eddie's strap? I think it will work for me (Eddie is another person who participated in RTB on COGY. He uses a strap on his ankle to stabilise his ankle from being floppy)". Really? What did you say? This word actually made my day. Does she not hate COGY yet? It's a great news for me.
